Hi Guys,

1) would I need the original translated document, or is a scan enough? (if the translator is in Canada and I'm not, for example).
2) instead of giving my document to be translated by a notary of a certified Canadian translator, may a friend translate my documents and provide a notarized affidavit that the translation is correct?

Thanks

Ans:
1: you just need to submit a scan of your original document on your E-Apr
2: i think that's acceptable too.

I don't believe you can get a translation from a friend, has to be an approved translator

"Translation of documents

If a supporting document is in a language other than English or French, the applicant must provide IRCC with a copy of the original document as well as a version translated by a certified translator.

If a supporting document is in a language other than English or French, the applicant must provide IRCC with:

the English or French translation; and
an affidavit from the person who completed the translations; and
a certified photocopy of the original document.
The instruction guide for Express Entry candidates and applicants explains how to meet these requirements."
