I called CIC and the agent said only the first 5000 will be processed, 5000-10k will be retained until informed later. Therefore if you've got charged now I assume you are in the first 5k.

You will receive email from CPCM-EXTCOM@cic.gc.ca. Currently applicants whose CCs were charged on 8th Jan are getting File Number.

Absolutely no reason to lose hopes. You are well within the cap. A lot of other applications from the 9:19 batch have been charged already.
