We never got PPR so it was fast for us. If you don't get the PR card in a time window you needed it you can apply for a PR travel doc outside of Canada.

PA is a non visa exempt passport holder so he needs to get his passport stamped.. guess it will be a full 12 months for us

kcward7 - i just got in touch with my MP and he said that it might go over the 12 month process. I applied in May 2017 and people from May already received their PPRs etc. MP said to wait till march to follow up with him again. I am sponsoring my hubby from Pakistan. I am really disheartened. :(

Unfortunately, it's just the way it goes. Some applications take longer to process. The 12 months is a target, not a promise, and a baseline for 80% of applications, not all of them. Don't lose hope. You will get there! <3

Normal, we never got pre arrival. BGC is the most laborious part of the process, you can expect a couple of months.
thanks, the last pprs from lvo got dm and ppr in the span of 2 weeks so hoping thats our case as pcc is all clear and only lived in 2 places so shouldnt be long

Hopefully! We didn't link until we were 7months in and our BGC was in progress when we linked and was for 2 more months after before DM.

Timescales vary drastically for the time taken for background checks - ours took 2 days, others take a couple of weeks or months - doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reasons to it......

I assume it's not so much the timescale that it takes, but rather the back end updates on the online systems. Just an assumption.

Alleluia!!! Gloire à Dieu. I've been waiting for 17 months and I finally got my CoPR, I'm going to buy my ticket now.
