Super visa holding parents are coming back for another 2 years.
I know there are few agents freq on this board so hope they can clear this up for me.

1)super visa medical insurance only covers critical/emergency only, not going to walk-in clinic to check up on common cold or headache?

2)deductible paid only once per illness, not per treatment/visit for same illness?

If these are true, I'm considering to buy a policy with highest deductible($500~1000) to save on initial cost.
Chances of being in emergency situation is low(knock on wood) and if, should there be one, I'll gladly pay $500~$1000.
both parents are healthy with no pre-existing conditions. They spent last 2 years in Canada and had zero sickness(besides common cold).

1) Yes, the Super Visa insurance only covers medical emergencies excluding regular check-ups or other non-emergency costs.

2) There are two kinds of deductibles. Per Claim and Per Policy. With Per Claim one, you have to pay a certain deductible every time you make a claim, even it is the same illness happening. Not paying once only per illness.

With Per Policy deductible, it is slightly different. If you have, say $500 deductible, you will not be paying any more than that despite the number of claims you may have. Once you reach $500 in out-of-pocket expenses (deductible) you will have $0 deductible for all other claims.

You may speak with an Insurance Advisor to learn more about Super Visa insurance policy and deductible options - Super Visa Insurance.
