Study Permit -- IELTS

Hi guys. I applied to a DLI and they asked for my transcripts and IELTS band 7 score (which I already have and happened to be in general training so I asked them if they will need the one in academic and I will be willing to take another exam). However, they said they can accept me in their school based on my grades and did not require me the IELTS in academic. There is a question on the study permit application form that is asking if the applicant has taken an English Proficiency Test and technically, my answer to that is yes (although it's in general and not in academic format). I have been accepted by the school just recently. My question is, do you think I still need to take IELTS in academic? Please help. :-\
