I plan to study in Mohawk College, Ontario their english requirement is;
-
IELTS Academic minimum score of 6.0 overall with no band less than 5.5
My IELTS Academic score is:
Listening: 9
Reading: 7.5
Writing: 5.5
Speaking: 8
Overall Band Score: 7.5
I know school acceptance won’t be an issue but will my score be an issue with the VO when I apply for a Student Permit?
I NEED YOUR OPINIONS.

I don't think you are eligible for sds , you can apply in non sds
Your writing score is a bit low.

I will apply on NON SDS.

Yes it is. Having second thoughts if I should sit another test or that is good enough.

Non-SDS you are good to go for sds you need 6 in writing
Firstly, congrats on achieving a great score in rest of the bands. As far as eligibility requirements are concerned, one needs to have 6 bands in each section in order to apply under SDS stream.
But I think if you apply under Non-SDS stream by maybe highlighting your written English potential (Perhaps via a letter from your English teacher back at university/college attesting your written English). You can also highlight good scores in English or language related subjects taken during your past studies in your SOP.

I do hope so, I’ve seen a few refusals because of IELTS score and I want to make sure.

Thank you! I honestly just ran out of time and was low on the word count in writing
I’ll take a note on this. I’ll put some higlight on it on my SOP, thanks again.
