Hi,

My family arrived in Canada in July 2023.

When I entered Canada at 17 years old, I received a student permit (minor) a dependent of my parent who holds a study permit.

Now, I am 19 years old in my senior year in high- school, and my student permit (minor) is about to expire. I want to apply for an independent student permit (as an international student) from within Canada.

I would like to know what the application process looks like under the new IRCC rules.

Thank you very much for your help!

If you want a work permit after graduation then make sure your program is eligible. Get admission, PAL and show $21k plus tuition. Justify program by showing job opportunities in home country.
