Hi Groups,

I want to applied for PR under common law relationship, but my refugee had been refused since September 12 /2018 and I applied for appeal and no response until today, my problem is my passport was expired since January/2018,

1) Can I applied first my passport through my embassy or must submitted the application without passport?

2) Common law relationship we must go to court as marriage process?

Ours came about 1 month after AOR but everyone is different and things have slowed down lately.

One more question please. I applied from canada, but i have to travel to romania in a few weeks. If i receive the biometrics letter can i give biometrics in romania or i have to come back to canada? Thank you so much

I have done my biometric from VAC office Islamabad after that no response from the canadian immigration.

May I ask what kind of update u r waiting for on ecas? Decision made? It will happen after background check is done...

Biometrics done- will not show up on ecas, you can check that on gckey.
Sadly, I don’t have estimate since I am stuck same as you on the same stage of a process... I will wait till 12 months are gone... and hope some good surprise comes by that time. If not, my husband will connect mp.....

It’s gckey account... you don’t have one? I got one, but only my lawyer has access to it...... it’s where you see what is done on your case, eligibility, background and so on... yes, same as u: November applicant, biometrics August 16, pre arrival August 12 and police certificate request.., they are doing background check now.
As soon as they clear it, they will send ppr... I hope

Lawyer for me, and she has control of it. R u worried they didn’t receive your biometrics? I think u can call them to confirm they did or through gckey, on mine it says when it was completed.

There is no biometrics place in canada. Inland applicants don't do biometrics. But you also aren't allowed to leave Canada so....going to Romania is dangerous for your app if you are. Unless you are the Sponsor or applied outland from canada???? Sponsors don't do biometrics...It's for the PA. You would be able to do biometrics in Romania if there's a visa office there. Otherwise go to the closest one. If in canada, you have to cross the border to do it.

It takes a couple of days. It's not something that gets approved. It's just done. It shows up as completed in GcKey. You're worrying too much. This can take 12 months and you rarely hear from them, rarely see an update in your account. They tell you to expect this all over their site. Even if you are on GcKey and ecas, things approved aren't listed. We all just wait for emails.
