Does IRCC recognize marriages conducted by proxy, telephone, internet and fax?
No. We don’t recognize these types of marriages. If one or both parties are not physically present at the ceremony, we won’t recognize the marriage.
You may be exempt from this rule if:
- Your application was received before June 10, 2015, or
- You are a member of the Canadian Armed Forces. The marriage may be recognized if:
- You could not be physically present at your marriage ceremony, because of travel restrictions related to your service,
- the marriage took place outside of Canada, and
- It was registered in a country where marriage by proxy is legal.

there is no way that i or anyone else can tell you where your file is standing .. you can email LVO if you like to get a status update ..
Congrats... Please tell me how much it had taken for email PPR... after your status change (Decision Made) in Gckey?

Really? I am October 11, 2017 applicant. My file got transferred to London visa office on January 22, 2018. It is about to be 12 months in total 2 days from now and there is complete silence from London visa office. They have not even reviewed the eligibility of my file. Their claim of completing the process in 12 months is bogus ...like seriously .. Everyday I wake up thinking today might be the day and guess what I am breaking up from within .. I don't know .. I am going through this frustration and phycological trauma ..
I have no red flags either .. first marriage, no age gaps, applied with in 4 months of my marriage. However, I got married to my cousin maybe that's why they are taking longer .. Anyway … fingers crossed!!

I am October 11 applicant myself and have not heard anything from london visa office. I asked them about the status of my application and got a reply back from them on 19th if September that file awaits review by migration officer. I can understand the feeling of frustration

its very frustrating and i can understand, i have been through it myself. their 12 month is for 80% of applicants as per their website. we dont know the inner workings of LVO and we can only guess at it.
just from the very small group of people who come on this forum i know at least half get theirs completed in 12 months, we dont know about the many others who never come to this forum, they might be getting approved earlier too. usually people who come to this forum are those who are fed up of the process taking so long so it looks to us like LVO is always taking long for everyone but it may not be the case.
