Hi Alina,
What exactly did your MP say? As you ware mid Aug applicants, i was hopeful that your file would be in review. When was the last update?
According to the info the MP got our file hasn't even gone through eligibility yet
so it means BGC hasn't even started for us. In order words they haven't opened the damn (excuse my language) file.
I was so mad but still so hopeful, since it only takes a matter of a day to at least open someone's file. hopefully we get some progress by the next 2 weeks.
This is what the email said,
• The responsible office is currently reviewing the application and documents submitted to determine if your constituent’s spouse meet the eligibility requirements.
• the assessment for the spouse is still in process at the Canadian visa office in London, United Kingdom.
• The medical examination results are on file and valid until May 6, 2017 for your constituent’s spouse.
• The criminality verifications have not yet been initiated.
• The security verifications have not yet been initiated.
We have also ordere gcms, should get them on may 05. I'm not expecting anything new in them though.
Re: SPOUSAL Sponsorship PAKISTAN @ London Visa Office
Hi can you please update my info further:
Date of sponsorship approval: Oct 6, 2016
city of Principal Applicant (wife): Karachi
Fyi guys, I received an email from immigration today. On gckey section under "Review of medical results" it used to say "medical exam passed", but today it was changed to "We are reviewing the results of your medical exam"
seems like LVO is pick up the slack. Hope we do not have to do a re-med. The first medical was done in July 2016. IA the others here also hear good news soon!
Re: SPOUSAL Sponsorship PAKISTAN @ London Visa Office
Never mind I think I spoke to early. I think I did get a request for a re-medical lol. however, it does not mention re-medical. This is what it says on the pdf: (Should my wife be going for a re-medical?)
These medical instructions are being issued since your application has been processed to the stage
where medical examination results are now required. Please read these instructions carefully.
IMPORTANT: You are required to undergo the medical examinations within 30 days of the date of this
letter. Failure to do so could result in the refusal of your application.
The medical examination must be performed by a doctor from the CIC list of Panel Physicians.
You cannot choose your family doctor if his or her name is not on this list. See the list of Panel Physicians to
find a doctor in your area at:
Once you identify a panel physician in your area, book an appointment for your medical examination.
When you schedule your appointment, please ensure that arrangements are made for your chest x-ray
and laboratory tests as well. Once your medical has been completed the doctor will forward the medical
results to CIC.
Any costs related to the medical examination are your responsibility and are payable at the time of the
examination. Should your application be refused following the completion of your medical examination
these costs will not be refunded.
Please bring the following to your appointment:
- The attached Medical Report form (IMM1017E)
- Proper identification (proof of identity must include at least one government-issued document
with photograph and signature, such as a passport or national identity card)
- Eye glasses or contact lenses, if worn
- Any medical reports or test results that you may have as a result of previous or existing
medical conditions
- Four recent photographs (photos are not required if the panel physician is listed as “eMedical
enabled” on the CIC website listed above)
Note: It is important that you inform the panel physician of any previous or existing medical conditions.
Failure to do so will delay the processing of your medical examination.

Salam,
I am Sep-2016 applicant for my wife sponsorship and I received the same email about Medical exam today. My wife had upfront medical exam done in Jul 2016. I am not sure about few things here.
- Online application status has been showing "Medical passed"
- GCMS notes that I requested about month ago says "Medical passed"
- The upfront medical must be valid till Jul 2017
Then why they are asking for another medical exam !
Any thoughts, insights ....
Thanks
Re: SPOUSAL Sponsorship PAKISTAN @ London Visa Office

@Ahmed786: Yes your medical must be valid till Jul 2017 and this means that its likely that CIC needs longer than July to process your application.
