one thing that really pisses me off about local MPs is that they simply will not acknowledge that the majority of pending files are simply sitting on a shelf somewhere waiting to be reviewed. instead, they spin their words and give us a false impression that LVO is actively working on our files and that it's normal for pakistani apps to take this long to process.
after my file was transfered to LVO, it sat on a shelf for 7.5 months before someone bothered picking it up and looking at what's inside. during that whole time i was being told the exact same garbage, that eligibility is being reviewed and that it'll be finalized by december 2017. i'm grateful that's it's finally over for me, but then they keep doing the same thing to other applicants and i get pissed off all over again.
CIC has to process 45,000-48000 application for spouses category for 2015/16 they have 186 employees specific to this category (21.4 millions dollars in salaries plus long term benefits) world wide which makes almost 240-250 applications per person per year.
Total working days are 261 minus each individual vacation or 3-4 weeks plus gazetted holidays, sick leaves or some goes on long leaves. So work load turn out to be more then 1 application per day.
However this work load is not equally divided as some countries has more applications and other less.

I just heard back from My MP....................
"So I just inquired with CIC about your spousal sponsorship. They are currently going through the eligibility review, meaning they are verifying all the information submitted in the application. Everything is moving along normally and they will contact once that review is done and they move along to the next stage. Because applicants from Pakistan for spousal take usually close to 24 months, there is still a fair bit of time."
Some one told me.. They can clear our files with in 14 months according to LVO time line. But your MP said its 24 months for Pakistani Spouse.
It is scary.

usually takes around 10 days on average. add 2-3 days if you're submitting to VFS lahore or karachi.
