According to a document received from SMU, DEC has approved programmes from 2009 to 2012.
Apart from WES is there any other way anyone has tried and got the evaluation done? Please help.
Priya
@priya ... I heard positive response from people who tried their luck with ICAS when WES doesnt evaluate degree from some university... So you can try with ICAS...but it takes minimum of 8 weeks... dont quit
Guys - There is again some sort of issue with the WES and SMU..I understand SMU hasn't renewed the UGC approval and hence WES is not evaluating the SMU educational records now..However, I would seek help here..
In my case initially WES didn't recognize my SMU educational marksheets but when i raised the issue a couple of times, they sent the revised report to my house..But i was unlucky to apply for FSW as the cap was reached..Now when i logged in my WES acct my online report as WES does not evaluate under institution status..What shall i do guys..Please help me..Is it now non recognized and i am ineligible to claim points for the SMU degree...
Regards
Deepak
Hello Seniors,
I have a small query before we initiate this process. I did my Graduation (2006) and Post-Graduation (2012) in Part-Time from Sikkim Manipal University, DE.
I don't know but looks like WES or Canadian PR system will not award me any points for my Degree's.
I will be more than happy to proceed with ICAS but need to know if I will get points for Sikkim Manipal University or not.
Can you please shed some more light on the same?

In my view, edcuation and exp are both different factors for assessment the eligibility. If WES/ICAS recognizes our educationals credentials we can claim points for the education irrrespecctive if you done in regular or distance mode...
Exp is another factor for assessment. It is based on the calcualtion of working hours...It should be paid job and full time for 40 hours per week..

Finally Sikkim Manipal University distance learning programme degrees are getting recognized.
This verdict by Sikkim HC declared on 29th June'15.
Hopefully the university name will appear in WES search university list soon.

That's a greatest new I ever heard recently. I started in 2009 and got the MBA degree awarded in June 2012
That means, my degree is protected. But, now how and when the WES is going to look at it and change their a stand on this?
Also, I remember recently seeing a message on WES website that it doesn't evaluate SMU degrees. I think now it is removed. Can someone check and confirm? I dont remember the exact URL I saw earlier.
Congratulations to all who have been waiting for this day including me.

The Message in the WES is still appearing in the wes site..
"WES does NOT evaluate academic records from Sikkim Manipal University"
I wrote to WES again. This is what I got from them.

This is in response to your recent communication regarding the evaluation
completed on ##-###-####.
The report has been reviewed and we have concluded that there are no
errors in the report and that the equivalency statement for your
