Hi guys,

I just paid the fees for the WES evaluation but haven't sent them the documents yet.

I came across this post now about SMU not being recognized and it's truly depressing.

Question - Shall I cancel my assessment with WES and instead send the documents to ICAS?

Please advise.

Though WES updated that they wont evaluate SMU academic records.......no need to worry .....you can try this evaluation with the agencies.... so there is always hope.. cheers

Though WES SAYS it wont evaluate academic records of Sikkim manipal university.......no need to worry. there are many other agencies which can do this evaluation successfully...... but only thing is WES is the fastest one..... but still stay positive with other agencies..... SMU is recognised in India and by many other educational institutes outside India..... the truth is simple that only WES wont evaluate SMU records.... but there are bunch of other agencies..... cheers

Can you please name some of the other evaluation agencies which will evaluate Sikkim Manipal university degree and give a positive assesment report???

No one can afford spending time to send the transcripts to other institutions and wait for their report to finally get a non-recognised evaluation report.

So its better to know which one will definitely give recognized evaluation status.

If the provision in the form is not enough, I would suggest you use an additional sheet.

Hi All

I have completed my Bachelors from National Institute of Technology, Silchar which is marked as Institute of National Importance by Government of India, But this institution is not listed in the WES list, also I see lot of NITs are not listed.

Do I get a Positive assessment for my Bachelors. I am worried even getting a Bachelor's degree in premier institute will not be recognized.

I have been asking the same question for some time. Never received a reply. Even, any one tried earlier not posting anything here.

When I find out, I will post, but I will have to try booth of them. I work in Guelph so maybe I will visit ICAS myself.

This is what ICAS told me when I enquired:

ICAS Assessment Reports include formal academic education completed at appropriately recognized institutions. Provided that your clients were admitted to SMU after the date of UGC recognition and that, if the program was completed by distance education, it was DEC-recognized at the time of attendance, we would be able to assess the study.

I'm not sure about the dates

FInally, a positive sign. But, now we should get together and find this date range. I contacted SMU and got two documents related to this. Is it OK to attach here. and BTW, how to attach a file to this post?

I finally got word from CES regarding my application, they have refused to assess my degrees ???

WES & CES - will NOT assess SMU degrees.

That leaves ICAS, I am too disappointed and at a loss of money to spare.. to apply there now. If anyone receives an actual offficial positive reply from them, let us know!
