If the PA's ECAS states "We started processing your application" it is AOR2. Lots of people have confirmed that they never received an e-mail stating the above. Before AOR2, PA's ECAS will say "We received your application". At least that is what I have gathered...
Same here. It depends from country to country as well. In my case, we are both outside of Canada. So we have AOR2 and background check etc. but no medical request. From what I have researched, our local visa office requests medicals a month before requesting passports. It is crazy.
Received the request to send photos and passport for my wife's application today.
PA: South Korea
Sponsor: Canadian citizen
Let me know if anyone has any questions who also is/has a PA from South Korea - it was a long process to go thoroughly through each section of the applications and a few sections that there seems to be no consensus on.
Hope everyone who is still waiting gets some good news quickly.
Are you both outside of Canada? Have a look at the spreadsheet on page one and try finding people with the same VO. That's what I did. There were only two other people who used my local VO in 2018, both waited roughly 2 months after file was transferred before they received their medical requests. So I figured - if the two-three month mark passes after my AOR2, I will start asking questions to the VO. So I am expecting a medical request end march - mid April. Hopefully
App received: Sep 28th
AOR : Jan 4th
SA: Jan 24rth
Medical request: Jan 24th
Medical Done: Jan 29th
Medical passed: Feb 1th
AOR 2(Manila office): Feb 1th

No I am in Canada and my husband the PA is in the Dominican Republic. Our VO will be Mexico, or is mexico ? when they decide to let me know its been transferred there haha.
Im not too worried, as its at least a 12 month process, should i net see anything by the 7 month mark i will reach out to ask questions.

There isn't, it's simply a step in the process and just because it came in 2-3 months for other doesn't mean it will for you. Sometimes the Canadian processing centers send the request, sometimes it doesn't happen until after the file has been transferred to the VO.
