I can't really tell, but that should be perceived as positive rather than negative. Maybe they're CECs or USA residents. What you see in MyCIC is rarely reflective of what really is going on.
Actually, it happened to me haha
But I am an FSW outland (non-US based).... I have seen others in the same situation...So confused!

It's not different or preferential treatment as much as it is faster checks in parts of the background check, info sharing happens faster (which is with the USA)- Anyone entering Canada would have to be vetted by the US too. Hence the faster decisions for US residents.
Oh! got it! I did not think USA will be interested to know who is going to Canada. Do you know if is published information or logical reasoning? It seems logical (that US would want to know this) to me when I think about it.

If you search for this info, you could find it published somewhere. But it's also common sense like you said, all the more with orange trump.
Does anyone know how much info is shared between USCIS and IRCC? For example, can USCIS see the full study permit/work permit/Express Entry application or vice versa for green card/f-1/h1b?
Yes.

RPRF request is a good sign. Look good.
I don't think USA residents get any different treatment than any other outland applicants. CEC cases are different though. I am a FSW outland applicant from USA with Sep 13th AOR. IP1 since Oct 11th.

. I think the first 45 days went okay for me, now this waiting is killing me
Same here I am kind of obsessed with checking the account and immitracker. Lot of US residents got PPR within 55 days but you know Murphy's law... I should have submitted sooner, had everything in place just didn't find time to peacefully write personal history until September
Umm...but i have a screenshot of the 21st that reads "we're processing your background check. We'll send you a msg.....". I stated here once that I've been on that stage since AOR possibly. Just wondering why it's gone back, except IP1/IP2 are not as relevant as we believe.
No. People who need buometrics see IP2 for a while and move to IP1 like others after they submit biometric. The actual background check will start later. It shows IP2 since biometric is a part of background check, but the more detailed one starts later when the application reaches that stage.. but yes it may not change to IP2 and go directly to PPR that's been happening a lot this year. This is normal for ppl who need to submit biometrics
Hi EE456
I don't quite understand, can you help make sense of my timeline
AOR - Sept 19
IP2 - Sept 21 (processing)
MEP - Oct 15
BIOM - Oct 16
IP1 - Oct 31 (application in progress)
Why did I go back to IP1?
I had the same experience. I believe nothing to worry about

This is incorrect. I submitted biometrics and still have my status as 'We are processing your background check..'
