Any action going on for the "Lucky" few applicants of September, 2013 who are still waiting for "Passport requests" No news from me yet. In the coming week I will enter into 7th month of "Waiting for Passport request". The suspense is still ON I need some "Action" badly

Passport request would be the result. Action would be and I hope not, request for additional documents, or PC or medical.
This wait has gone on long but unfortunately as some say we still under processing period so just have to hang in there. Hopefully good news for all soon.

Extra medicals, extra documentation, interview, refusal.... virtually anything (but not likely) can happen.

So again Kunishsa, just enjoy the final days of summer, it is nice out there.... everything will turn out just fine

A strange thing happened today

I went to have the OHIP renewed for me, wife and kid.

Apparently, there is a code type on my wife's open work permit (which we received in July) which makes her eligible for OHIP card for 1 year and she can use the same permit (even if expired) for next 3 years to get her OHIP in case her PR is not approved.......She is listed as eligible to continue as PR applicant

But the catch is - she could get only her OHIP card and not mine or my kid as dependent. Our permits did not have the code
I am the principal applicant on my PR....but she has the code on her permit.......May be they verified her PR application status when I applied her open work permit in July...

Spouse open permit........That is what I had applied. Not sure if CIC decided to issue a BOWP instead......It just states Open work permit

PGWP, SOWP, BOWP, WP... these all are just conditions (categories) to get an Open Work Permit, but in fact they all are just Open Work Permits (with certain conditions).

Well, my work permit expires on Oct. 18th. Haven't heard anything about my file for months. I'll give it 2 more weeks and if nothing happens I'll have to pay the $150 for the BOWP

Jalex, my open work permit does not have the same code and I was denied the OHIP. Just FYI
