I post this in another section however not sure if anyone has some inside info:
My Work permit finished and renew Work permit rejected due to some stupid errors my immigrant consultant made. I did not work and no status in Canada waiting for my PR visa.
I'm FSW2 with Arranged Employment Opinion.
CPC sent back my passport yesterday so I will get my PR visa today.
Please advice my landing options.
1. U-turn landing at peace bridge(Fort Erie).
2. Flagpole landing at peace bridge(Fort Erie). Will US customes ask me my status in Canada? Or if they find out I'm out of status in Canada, what will they do?
3. Fly back to home home and land @ pearson airport.
I would prefer 1>2>3.
Also if I do 1 or 2, can my cousin(canadian citizen) drives me to Fort Erie ?
All I can say is that your options are your choice because Canada does not care if you go to US or not....they want you to seek re-entry when you enter Canada so that they can process you as PR...
And yes, your cousin can drive you as long as he takes his passport ...that's what Jessica07 did

So I am guessing you are not working anymore with your employer....make sure you take a letter from HR that they will hire you once you become permanent resident...
Try to do your landing as soon as possible.... Maybe even try a different lawyer...and get advice from a different person ...I am not sure now but I remember when we applied for FSW, it did say your work permit should be valid when your visa is issued.

Good point dbss, I will bring the Job offer that they will hire me once I got my PR and the LMO, AEO for sure.
No you don't need to have valid work permit when your PR visa is issued:
If you do not currently have a work permit and you are not otherwise authorized to work in Canada before you have been issued a permanent resident visa ... and
•Your prospective employer has made an offer to give you a permanent full-time job if your application is successful, and
•Your prospective employer has obtained a positive labour market opinion from ESDC
Note: You cannot arrange for a labour market opinion from ESDC. Your employer must do this for you.
Sorry for joining this thread. I am planning to apply for FSW-arranged by April 2013. My problem is, I don't understand what CIC means when your work permit needs to be valid when PR issued. My work permit will Expire April 2015- LMO issued. Can somebody explain it to me if I can apply?
