senoirs please help regarding break in studies

please help me as i am an international student in sheridan college for jan 14 in electromecahnical engineering technician .my program ha s official break in jan 15 to april 15 . But i want to take drop after 1 sem in may to august or after 2 sem from september to december but if i take drop after 1 sem or 2 sem then i have to wait 8 months for next semester .according to new rules can it affect my status in canada and post graduation work permit and pr application . Yes it will effect your study period being an international student you must have to complete your studies within a specific period of time .
