please help me as i am an international student in
sheridan college for jan 14 in electromecahnical
engineering technician .my program ha s official
break in jan 15 to april 15 . But i want to take drop
after 1 sem in may to august or after 2 sem from
september to december but if i take drop after 1 sem or 2 sem then i have to wait 8 months for next
semester .according to new rules can it affect my
status in canada and post graduation work permit
and pr application . Thanks in advance

First, are you sure the Post graduate work permit program is still valid?

Second, once you are enrolled it doesnt matter whether you are full or part-time, but
if you want to apply for a post graduate work permit you must be at least 8 months full time.

According to the rules coming into effect in June 2014, the intention of CIC is that your school will be required to report you to them if you stop full time studies for any reason. At which point, CIC will cancel your SP and ask your to leave
