Hi everyone,
I'm currently employed as a Business Process Analyst, who's work is mainly project management-related (both IT and non-IT). I have a Masters in Project Management, and used the NOC Code 1122- Professional Occupations in Business Management Consulting in my initial application for EE. Now I'm second guessing if the NOC Code should actually be 1221- Administrative Officers, since that actually mentions the Project Management Professional certification.
Any thoughts?

I know, as I said above, I primarily do the job duties of a project manager. The issue is, what I do versus what my job description indicates I do are radically different since my company lets me manage projects rather than map processes. Which leads me to confusion as to what NOC code I should use-- I'm not even sure the 1221-Administrative Officers would be the correct one.

The thing that matters is what job duties are listed in your employment letter. Those have to match the NOC you choose in your profile.
iRCC compares your employment letters to official NOC description so thats where you need to pay attention. If your job duties vary slightly or are more extensive than that in your actual job, that wont make a difference.

Hi!
There's an email address you can email and ask them which NOC your job fits. I think you just have to email your job details and probably wage to them. The email address is in the below conversation.

So in addition to the good info that Andre_Smol provided, the next question is - do you have your letter of reference yet? DO you know what your employer will write/sign? The letter is attesting to what you do to the federal goverment, in your situation, you need to know what will be in that letter (what job duties/responsibilities) before you select the NOC... If you don't already have it, have a talk with your boss or whomever will be resonsible for writing/signing the letter.

I do have my letter of reference from my employer. It contains all the information CIC requires, along with the attached job description for my position. The issue is, it goes two ways: project management and business analysis. Job duties fall equally between both.

Well, as Hannah noted above, you can submit the letter to ESDC and get their opinion.
http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/Welcome.aspx
Note that an opinion from ESDC is not binding on IRCC/CIC, but you could submit a letter of explanation of your dilemma and why you chose the NOC, along with ESDC's opinion. It may (or may not) help, but at least then you will have done everything you can.

If the requirement states that it should be valid for more than 6 months, then yes, you need to get it renewed.
