The form must be completed at your expense before a person who is authorized by law to administer an oath or solemn affirmation. However, they say this may delay the processing time of the RTD

Hi I got my PR, and my travel document is going to expire. There is still time left, but I want to renew it. Do I need to physically return my old travel document for the new application? Also, do I need a guarantor signature again?

Yes if it’s still valid you need to send it with your application package. Yes you need guarantor.

They received my application on February 7th but the referenece number is not in the system yet.

I want to renew my travel document because it is almost expired. I’ve heard that lately, vacations have been a big issue. I mean, I'm not going to my own country, and I don't plan to; I've removed it from my life. But why is it a problem to go to other countries? If I renew my travel document now, they will see that I’ve traveled outside before for vacation. Is there a possibility that they won’t let me renew my travel document ?

I don’t know, after all, a passport is given so that we can go to other countries, not just our own. Maybe some people misused it, but not everyone is in the same situation.

You can’t use your home country passport or you risk losing your status in Canada. Do not renew your home country passport either.

There is nothing called renewing/extending the RTD. You have to apply for a new RTD, which is the same process as the first one.

You can travel either your travel document. No problem. Enjoy your life. I went to USA a few times and Bahamas. No issues. Just get the new one and enjoy your life.

How long does it take his the processing time for RTD. I applied since Jan 3rd and I was informed it not updated yet on their system and I’ve travelled plans in march and I still need to apply for visa
