yeah.. Will need to see how soon can I learn French to be included in French quota...I don't see a point trying to increase IELTS score if there is no FSW draw at all. Australia is even tougher!! I still have my H1B and Green Card processing going on although I won't see a GC until my US born babies can sponsor me after 19 years (when they are 21).
Hard work pays but one has to be smart too. Waiting is different from being patient. Time waits for no one so do whatever you have to do to preserve your comfort
Depends on the 2020 election but even then with the whole anti-china thing thats going on, I doubt it. Chinese are the only other country with GC backlogs.
s386 doesn’t seem likely to be passed either, maybe until the MAGA is removed so he should start making plans for the unforeseen. Having kids to cater for and waiting for something that might take too long to happen can be depressing.
Heck, now PNPs too focus only on dudes over there
These days Canada be like if you are student, you are compulsorily given a PR even if you deny
Guess it is time to pack up and move as a student.
But yes, chances of rejection is quite high if the gap between last graduation and the current date is quite high
What a year 2020 has been so far
Nope! I would be the best example - I have completed my graduation in 2006 and I took the admission in Canadian college in 2017 after 10 years of study. I am glad I took the student visa route. Honestly, it's much easier to settle down after studying here. Especially getting jobs is easy if you have Canadian education over foreign education.
I may have max 75 points for Auatralia PR which won't fly for Software Engineers, so the only options for me are endless wait on H1B, some PNP, score coming down to 462 (FSW). I am in my early 30s and too old for a student visa in Canada.

On May 13, 2020, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) issued targeted Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to candidates with Canadian work experience who may qualify for Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities (HCP) Stream. If you received a NOI, you do not need to contact the program.
See the first few sentences in the notification "On May 13, 2020, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) issued targeted Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to candidates with Canadian work experience who may qualify for Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities (HCP) Stream. "
Interesting.. Im looking at their points system and they place a lot more value on foreign work experience vs. Australian experience. Canada is the opposite. For older candidates, Australia may be better while for younger candidates (with canadian experience), Canada is a lot better
Anyone knows, How many years of work exp. is required in the listed NOC for Tech Draw? Actually I have been working in NOC code 2171 from last 5 years, However, I worked in another NOC 2173 and 2174 from 2008 - 2015.
