Well since the cut off score is based on the average CRS score in the pool I feel bad for guys waiting for less than 445. I received WES evaluation and will be entering the pool tomorrow with 498. But I have been following your stories and some are just heart breaking. So fingers crossed for all you guys!

Just a question, i started working since Jan 9th 2017 until now as it is my current job, when will I complete two years will that be on Jan 8th 2019 or Jan 9th 2019 or Jan 10th 2019?

Averaging is done to decide the CRS cut off score. Based on the grouping of scores the amount of invitees are then selected.

I'm afraid it's incorrect. It's the other way around.

Express Entry is a ranked-based system, so they select number of candidates based on various factors, then the CRS cut-off is determined by the lowest ranked invited candidate.

In this last round, there were 3,900 invited candidates. So the highest score is set by the top ranked candidate (1st), and the lowest score (cut-off) is determined by the last ranked candidate (3900th).

They don't pick a score. They pick 3900 candidates. And if many have the same cut-off score, they pick the oldest ones until they reach 3900, and the time/date stamp of the 3900th is known as the tie-breaking rule.

By the time you receive PPR, passport should be valid for 6 months.
So given the fact that the process takes 6 months, it's safe to have a passport valid for at least 1 year at the time of submission.

The system only works with MONTH/YEAR. So it will consider you completed 1 year on January 1st.
However, to be safe when your case is being reviewed, it's safe to work until January 8th so that work reference letter shows that date.

Why don't you try applying to any of the provincial programs as and when they open? I am also planning to do that if I don't get though any draw till Jan 19.

well.. yes that is what we will opt for as and when that comes up... as of now after February there were no options for PNP for my profile

I guess you're talking about May 31st 2017.
What about it? It's the score of the lowest ranked candidate (3877th). What is there to explain?
Number of invitations to be issued is based on various factors (e.g Targets, Planning, Needs, Variations in pool...etc)

Do note that the system has changed since November 2017 with the new tie-breaking rule.

For more precision here is an extract of the Ministerial Instruction for example for this last draw. I don't want us to fall into how each one interprets the system.

Interpretation
1 The following definitions apply in these Instructions.

means the Ministerial Instructions Respecting the Express Entry System, as published in the Canada Gazette, Part I, on December 1, 2014, as amended from time to time. (Instructions concernant le système Entrée express)
general ranking
means the ranking of eligible foreign nationals relative to each other, regardless of the class under which they can receive an invitation. (classement général)
invitation
has the same meaning as in section 1 of the Express Entry Instructions. (invitation)

Invitations — Period
2 Invitations may be issued under these Ministerial Instructions during the period beginning on November 28, 2018, and ending on November 29, 2018.

Invitations — Number
3 The number of invitations that may be issued is 3,900.

Invitations — Rank
4 For an eligible foreign national to be invited to make an application, they must be ranked among the first 3,900 eligible foreign nationals in the general ranking.

When I use CRS calculator my score with one year experience is coming up as 434 and when I put 2 years it is coming up as 465. however when I created my profile this year in April with year experience the points showed was 434 now I got my 2 years experience posted and points have increased to 447, my question is why it is not 465 as CRS score calculator with 2 years experience shows 465?

Well, you can see breakdowns of your score on both the CRS calculator as well on your EE profile, so just compare the two and see where the delta comes from. Ultimately it's quite likely that you're putting in slightly different data in the two places, but just overlooked something.

I was in same situation. My score just got update today. They see as a month not as day . I strted my job in jan 2017 today i completed 24 mnths and my score got updated aswell. Check your profile. Ur scored would have updated too
