I am really confuse...for new applicant French is compulsory?
If one dont want french points, and if he score 60 points, can he apply? they say
Language knowledge
If you submit an application under the Program for skilled workers, be informed that:
the weighting in the selection grid for knowledge of French has changed. The level required to obtain points for the factor Language knowledge has been increased;
the advanced intermediate level has become the minimum threshold from which points are attributed for knowledge of oral and written French;
two points can be attributed to the principal applicant for knowledge of written French.
Anyone understands this?

well i want to make it clear to the applicants of 2012 who have got AOR and who have claimed pts for AOT i think so that we all will be assessed under old rules as our AOT was assessed under 2009 list of aot so relax down concentrate on french and lets see whats next
Still not true, AOT was only used for Intake rules yet. When processing comes, they will count points again... and if that is the new rules, that it will be based on new AOT, at least that is what seems logical to me...
AOT is the thing which can help u to get AOR i have seen number of cases whom's files are given back to them cos they don't fetch any pts in AOT lets see !

"All applications will be processed according to the new rules in effect as of August 1, 2013, with the exception of those for which processing began prior to that date. "
What does "processing"mean again?

But as per new rules, is French B2 is compulsory required? is it basic necessity of file?

This is what I got from the below link please check...but it doesn't mean B2 is mandatory for everyone only for people who are claiming points for French..I may be wrong...

what do you understand with the order of priority? this is how I interpret it, you will only be in priority if you belong to 1 and 2, at number 3 "applications from candidates who obtain points from AOT" here I think we all have points from AOT It does not specify if you have 16, 12, or 6 points, meaning we will be treated equally first come first serve if you belong in number 3. what do you think guys?
it means
As per the old rules priority processing was applicable only for people claiming 12 and 16 points for AOT.Now it seems like anybody getting any point for AOT are considered priority..It's better now ......
Still nothing is clear about old applications and new rules...
Here is the
updated Guide (and here is
google-translated version).
There is something on the 39th page that I don't understand. Can someone clarify this, please?
I have just called them again, the lady said my application is still only opened, but not in process yet (it was filed middle of January 2013 and CC was charged early March). She said it will definitely be processed under the new rules (so "AOR=In Process" theory is still not confirmed, actually the opposite), which is not a problem now, that they give Comp. Eng. 12 points
, but about priority she said she cannot guarantee they will pick those apps, which were not priority before, and start priority processing for them. At least I still have 63 points, we'll see how much time it takes for them to process it now...
