Protected Person Study Permit

Hi Everyone,
I am a protected person and my PR in the process. The college I enrolled in, did not ask for a study permit, I got OSAP funding as well without a study permit. my course duration is 8 months and I have 3 more months to complete. I am kind of confused about what should I do.
Will this effect on my PR?
Does anyone know what provision exempt study permit for a protected person?
Does anyone face the same situation?

Well... in most cases you must get a study permit. But depends on the program. In my case I had to study 10 months in a law school. My education was 100% distanced(even before covid). And I didn’t have to apply for a study permit. My enrollment letter said that I could take this course from anywhere outside canada and this program doesn’t require me to be present in a country.

Foreign nationals are required to obtain a study permit for engaging in academic, professional, vocational or other education or training that is more than 6 months in duration at a designated learning institution (DLI) in Canada.
The following activities are not considered studies for the purposes of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and do not require a study permit:

• pre-school (pre-kindergarten)
• courses of general interest or self-improvement
• distance learning
• audited courses (typically by sitting in on an academic course, but without obtaining credit for it, or having the ability to obtain credit for it retroactively)

Were you not asked to prove your status by the school when applying? For OSAP you should be required to show your status in Canada as well as your resident status in Ontario. Were you already approved as a protected person when applying for school and OSAP? Were you already aa protected person when you started your program? Would suggest consulting with a lawyer about your exact situation.
