In my case our fathers name has a minor spelling mistake between mine and my brothers passport and Birth certificate (no spelling mistake in our mothers name). So i applied for an affidavit stating that both the names are one and the same. I got two affidavit one for the birth certificate and the other one for Passport. Small spelling mistake will not create noise in my opinion. Hope this helps !![/QUOTE

Hi Everybody,
My sibling is a Canadian Citizen and we have bitter relations (dispute), due to which I have not shown him in the profile created in federal pool. Now I want to understand that would there be any repercussions of not showing him (My wife is the primary applicant). If you suggest that it is required to show, I won't be able to produce his documents, in that case my profile will be rejected by the investigating officer. I thought of disclosing this fact in the letter of explanation/ cover letter as I have not claimed his points otherwise they will be added automatically. Peers kindly suggest.
Thanks in advance.

Its fine to not claim points for your sibling, but you must declare him as family in your profile when you submit your e-APR (after receiving an ITA).
If you don't, you would be committing misrepresentation which has serious consequences.

Hello Folks,
My biological mother divorced my biological dad and then married to my stepdad. Now, stepdad has a biological daughter who is a Canadian citizen. Now, what documentation would prove her to be my step sister?
Here’s a list of documents I have ready.
1)
My Mom’s passport says stepdad as a husband.
2)
Mom’s divorce and marriage certificates
3)
Step dad’s passport (says my mom as a wife)
4)
Step sister’s Canadian passport
5)
My passport mentioning mom’s full name (mother-son relation)

Thanks in advance.

I don't believe you can get points for a step sister. One of the requirements to get points for a sibling is that you must have one parent in common. You and your step sister have no parents in common. You both have different mothers and fathers by birth.

Hi All !!!

I would like to know that is affidavit acceptable to proof as siblings ...... As my father in law and his sister do not have any other proof that they are brother and sister........

1. A copy of his passport bio page and the page that lists his parents (and your parents). Your passport has the same names in it, right?
2. PR Card
3. PR Card + utility bills and bank statements, a copy of the lease.
4. PR Card

Hi,

I want to show my sibling’s passport which has same parents name but different address as she got married 2 years back.

Also there is surname in my mother’s name in my sister’s passport but inmy passport there is no surname of my mother. So do i need to make affidavit to prove that both are same person or there is no need for that.

TIA
