I called and they told us that my husband´s card hasn´t been issued because they didn´t receive the information (paperwork) from the airport. (??) does this happen often? what does it mean?
The agent said to wait 3 weeks and will be sent by mail... has anyone experienced this. are we really going to receive it in the mail or is just a script and we´ll have to start the process again?
I am surprised that nobody received that page. It seems a generic page given to everybody at the port of entry. I have posted the both sides of that document on my blog (see below), if you want to see it.
I am glad you liked my blog. My intention was to help others with the process by providing some information as well as help me remind what I went through to make Canada our home. I hope my kids will read the blog (when they can actually read and understand, they are too young now) in the future and appreciate what I did for them and for ourselves. Good luck with your journey!
I just received news that my PR application has been approved, and I need to make the 1st landing by Oct 2010.
Is it possible that the PR card be mailed to a friend or relative's Canadian address and I have them mailed back to me later? The reason is that I most likely will be leaving Canada after making the 1st landing. Also, do I need the PR card to leave Canada? Will there be any problem for me to enter Canada via flight again if I do not have the PR card?
Yes, I was surprised when I saw it. I believed the card would be here in a week or so... Didn't expect to receive it before 2010. The card was mailed on December 23rd.

They will not mail your PR card to an address unless it is your own address. If you claim to stay there, however, they will probably mail it there... but lying to an immigration officer is not really the best policy.
There is really no need for the PR card per se; you do have the ability to get a travel document from the diplomatic post where you are going and travel back on that. It's a bit inconvenient but will work just fine as long as you go back within the required time.
We landed together, we called and they explained every application is processed separaterly and that this was an internal issue that doesn´t happen that often. My husband just had to go to review and sign off some papers and they said we´ll get the card on the mail within 15 days.
