Her timeline: applied for restoration of closed wp (AINP nominee) on July 7, 2015;
Restoration approved: December 1, 2015.

mine was apply on 12 august when I call cic they said my application under second review also iask her when I can receive my result she told me call back after 4 month that crazy already pass 4 month so now work permit like pr that very slow process now days

Atleast they are telling you that it has been reviewed in my case they are just telling, u need to wait only. Your file is still in process.
that sucks its already been more than 6 months now and I havnt got my decision.

bro same to me I call them today one of the agent was little helpful she said to me my application send to some other office ( incharge of restauration ) end of October they are still waiting for approval but I ask her how long take she told me take up of 6 month and just be patient

Yup their average processing time is 6 month but in some cases they were giving faster, depends upon the case and the officer who is processing it.

I applied restoration and work permit extension with new employer same time on 25 July 2015.
Application done online.

Last week called to CIC and the officer told that I can keep working previous employer and she is going to send message to another service that they send me email.
Now today I called again to know what is going with my restoration or extension status, CIC officer told she can't tell me anything about status.

Don't know what to do sitting and waiting more than 4 month.

This is the thing. They never tell you the exact time how much they gonna take to process. Its been more than 6 months now I haven't got my decision. The maximum time for restoration is 6 months which have been passed but they still says in process.

I'd like to share my experience.
I submitted my work permit restoration on Aug 11, 2015.

Then, I went to the border yesterday (Emerson, MB) to ask can I get a work permit at the border.
I am from a visa exempt country, and I didn't leave Canada, just drive slow then turn to the CBSA office.

I ask can I get a work permit when I am in restoration status at the border.
They say I have to provide the "current job offer" to get a work permit, but they can't give me any guarantee.
Besides, my employer compliance fee receipt is too old (the date is August), I have to call CIC to check did CIC use the receipt or not, the receipt is one time use only.

I don't have any "current job offer"... I already stop working for 5 months...., so I didn't get work permit at the border.

When I came back home, I got an e-mail.
It's CIC's agent replying my question for how long I have to wait for my application.
They said "Currently, your file is still in process and there is no maximum timeframe to finalize an application."
Ok, continue waiting............... :'( :'(
