PR Renewal applications April 2025

Hello. Starting a thread to see how many of us have submitted PR renewal applications and what the status is. Given the new timelines, IRCC posted 9 days as processing time. Also, is IRCC closed today? Been calling them since 8:00 AM EST.

Hi. Thank you for your reply! Are you based in Toronto as that will give an idea of how long the post might take? Additionally, I just spoke to IRCC because someone told me to link my application and they said they have no proof of my application as yet which is crazy. Did you experience something like this? They asked me to wait till their system picks up the application.

Yes, I am based in GTA area.
I did not try to link application but continued checking status in the PR portal which still shows "submitted". There are others in the March 2025 PR renewal thread who also received the card in 10 days without any email from IRCC or any status change in the portal. When did you apply?

Oh, aright. I should be doing the same as well. But I just find it so odd that IRCC cant find my application in their system. They were providing details of contact and address of my first application (1st PR card) and I said no, the new address and phone number is all there in the new application (renewal). I applied on 23rd April.

The linking of the application to the GC key - is what Im assuming you are referring to. If yes, then that whole process has been a pain for me. Even after getting the Application Number from IRCC, I am unable to link it. I add all the information it requires such as application number, family name, city and country of birth, nationality, date you became PR. All informaton is standard and yet it says no application found. So after 10 days I have given up on the linking.
