PR Card Pickup from Etobicoke

Hi,

I submitted PR Card renewal application for my parents on April 15, 2024 by mail.

On July 4, 2025 ,

Final decision-July 4 , 2024: Your application is in progress. We will send you message once decision has been made.

I called IRCC on Aug 2, 2024 and they told me that I sent message to Etobicoke office and once they find date and time for PR card pickup they will send you email.

This is new thing I heard that we have pickup PR Card from Etobicoke office.

Anyone know about things or any update on this. Let me know

Were your parents cutting close to number of days required to maintain PR status ? Were they out of compliance for RO ? card pick up is not an unusual scenario, need to understand your situation to comment as to why IRCC wants them to pick up card.

The in person pick up isn't new.

IRCC will sometimes request in person pick up when they want to see someone is still living in Canada. This is more typical for H&C applications where someone doesn't meet the residency obligation. If in person pick up is selected by IRCC, then the PR card holder must appear themselves in person to pick up the card.

There's no standard processing time in these cases. These are non standard applications.

Don't really understand your plan. But if your parents are in Canada, they should NOT plan to leave the country.

Why would you even consider them leaving when they had only stayed 182 days in the country in a five year period ?

Also they do not want to leave country only for 5 days for grandson marriage in USA.
