PR Card (New/Renewal) Processing Timeline 2020

New update on my PR renewal status.

1. We received your application for a permanent resident card on June 8, 2020.
2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on September 16, 2020.
3. We started processing your application on September 16, 2020.

Please keep us posted as you see any update. Ours is in process on Sep-15.
I will post if there's any progress in ours.

Oh man, so I got my application back today (may have arrived this weekend). So they've sent a letter dated September 1st, and my problem was that I post-dated the signature for 1st May, while it reached them April 14th. Really stupid mistake on my part and I'm trying to figure out where my head was when I was making this application

I could really use some advice from you guys if you know what I should do now, I'll attach the letter they've sent with it so you're better able to assist me. Like I'm not sure if I'm supposed to make a new application with updated days spent here and take new photos as my older ones are from February/March (6+ months), or if I just re-sign with an updated signature and send it back as is?

Thanks! I’ve gotten the same advice elsewhere. Just gonna be such a hassle compiling everything again but that’s on me.

I do wanna ask, do you think I should put something on my envelope to state this is an application in process already, or something like an urgent sign? Or do you think they’d start working on it as soon as it’s picked up from the mailroom?

Also, should I update my days up to now? I mean nothing has changed but my days outside Canada has gone down by 3 months since I haven't traveled anywhere this Summer. Basically, that period to be assessed should have an updated 5-year block, correct?

Just checked on MYCIC, its been updated with status as APPROVED on Sep 21 and card is sent out. In ECAS, i guess it will be updated tomorrow, as per trend (One day after MYCIC).

Looking forward to receive my card now this week.

Could you please explain what is the differnce between ECAS and MYCIC

I’m only checking my application through canada.ca/client application status and the wierd thing is that i cant access my processing anymore since the last couple of days!! It was showing as processing But it suddenly stopped working! Is there an other way to go around this?

PS: We used to do alot of private messages as we have same landing , pr experience and even our pr renewal applications were the same date

My Cic link: You need to register and login using credentials. Here you can link all your applications (no citizenship) and also view past payments and workflow of your application. Sometimes you use MyCic to upload documents requested by CIC.

Ecas is online application status check. You don't need credentials but application details. Anyone can use it.

Just completed my ECAS but when I linked PR card application it only whowed the details for the first PR card that was issued to me !!!! Last time I was able to check the ECAS for me when it was working 2 days ago it showed (in process since Sep 10) is this normal! How could i access the details of the renewal of PR card ?

For my wife I just created an account but I couldnt succeed for some reason I completed the first part by creating an account with GC details but it didnt went through till the end , ( her status showing is Decision made)

ECAS is for all applications either new or renewal. You can check using UCI#.

thanks Rizwan for sharing but did ECAS stopped working for you ! For me its not working in the past two days ( it lead me to a page saying we can not find your application!)

Also in myaccount i was only able to see my 1st PR card processing information when i landed in canada 5 years ago!

PS: its so spooky how we continue to have the same events/dates since we immigrated to canada lol
