Update today!
Landed: Oct 2, 2018, in Sarnia, Ontario Photo Request Received (by email): Nov 27, 2018 Photos sent & received at CIC: Dec 17, 2108 Approved on my CIC: Feb 5, 2019
My husband landed in Toronto on 1 November 2018 and received the request for new photos on 21 December. These were sent the same day. So far he has not received the card but did send an enquiry and was advised by IRCC that the section that takes care of photo retakes is currently processing photo retakes received before 10 December.
Please anyone I need some advice, yesterday immigration wrote my husband with a passport request they need a valid one, his passport is with CBSA and when we call CBSA they said they cannot give it to us unless there are authorized to do so BY IRCC I send back an email to the immigration officer letting him know my husband Cannot get a new passport without the original expired one I got an ail today my husband got AIP letter but no response about the passport
To update my previous post, my husband finally received his PR card on 21 February. Now for the strange thing, there was also another letter and presumably PR card (as the envelope looked exactly the same as what my husband received) for someone else but using our address. I sent it back but have no idea what happened other than a computer glitch that used our address instead of the correct one.
Thank you as far as I understand, when it comes to PR cards GCKey will only update once to say “approved” and that happens once the card has been mailed
