You can certainly travel. You can leave Canada whenever you want after landing, with or without a PR card.
You can't travel into Canada with a commercial mode of transport, because airline/bus companies require a PR card for boarding.
But you can travel into Canada with a private vehicle via the land border with the USA. You just need the CoPR for that.
I think it's valid for one year , it's only for landline , one time entry visa. They will mail you a PR card after. You can't travel after your landing until u get that. Good luck

Great, so you no longer need that visa for travelling outside Canada and coming back during your future travelling. the PR card will be the proof. Just wondering do all airport immigration authorities around the world acknowledge the PR card as a proof you have legal status in Canada?

Nope, they asked me to call on Monday to ask. But I will request them tomorrow for an update. The PR itself took 10 months. Its more painful to wait for the passport for a month
Hi members,
I have applied for PR with spouse non-accompanying option and is in awaiting COPR stage.
1. Can my spouse apply for visitor visa once I receive my COPR to come with me while i travel to Canada in PR?
We are planning for a 1 month visit only for spouse and want to initiate spouse visa after that...
Will this be a valid reason to apply for TRV? Can it cause a rejection?
2. Another option we have is that, my sister can invite him. But we are doubtful if he will face rejection if he applied for TRV to visit my sister and family without me. should we do this application before my landing?
Kindly suggest which would be the best reason to submit a TRV application?
