Thank you for the update! I keep checking earlier in the week to see if they changed the processing times, but for some reason it wasn't updated. I'm hoping it'll come in sometime today or early next week!
“Flagpoling” is a term that describes the process of applying at a Canadian Port of Entry after a brief visit to the United States. This process is quite practical for individuals in Canada who are eligible to apply for a work permit at the POE and do not want to wait for their application to be processed at CPC-Vegreville, or if they are required to apply in their country of residence and want to possibly avoid long processing times.
Quiet common issue nowadays, the funny part is that not everyone is getting one year, some of us who have done two separate one year programs are getting 3 years.
I had the same issue, studied 2 separate 1 year programs and got 1 year PGWP , called in complained and it was fixed in 3 months.
Bit late here, but I have the same issue as the two of you -- got a 1-year PGWP after two 1-year programs. I was worried at first, even after talking to CIC, but calmed down after reading about other people on this forum getting it fixed. Totally agree with the randomness of it: some of my friends with two 1-year programs got 3-year PGWPs.
Anyway, just need to wait two more months (my approval and complaint were exactly a month ago). Hope it's fixed soon.
Guys if you don't wanna wait for that long, you can go to nearest US-Canada border and do flag-polling. It is super fast. You can expect you pgwp within 30min-45min.
