I went in for my interview on Jan 27, and everything went well. I am going back to the embassy tomorrow to pick up my visa and will be flying out on Feb 4th with my hubby. My hubby came with me for the interview. They let him into the embassy but never called him to interview him. They interviewed me for about 1 1/2 hr and after the interview the IO said "I have no doubts that this relationship, I am going to issue the visa today but let me check with my secretary." She wanted the secretary to go over the papers they asked me to bring in. I didn't know if to jump up in the air or cry, I couldn't believe it.
Congratulations! wow that was really fast! I wished I did not book my ticket for quite the 16th. But i hear there is a snow storm next week tuesday or wednesday.
Did you go to the Trinidad Embassy Location or was your interview in Guyana?
AND success stories out of Trinidad
Yay!!!!
I had my interview in POS.....the I.O was really nice. She also knew I had nowhere so stay, I would have to travel back to Guyana with my passport. Hopefully the storm wont delay the plane on Friday. In the meantime I am enjoying the beautiful weather in Trinidad.
haven't seen too much activity on this forum lately - i guess that may be a good sign as most of the folks on here are well on there way to Canada and reuniting with their spouse's - which is a great thing.
As for me, no news to report. Really feeling the stress of this and not hearing anything from the embassy. But i guess no news means good news??
@ LINKS: Looks like your a newbie just like me and i'll file has a similar timeline. Could you provide more details on your situation? Is this the first marriage for you both? Are there any kids involved? Is it a straightforward case?
I sure hope i hear something really soon. Don't know how much more of this waiting i can handle before i lose my mind!!
Hope all is well and congrats to those that have finished the process and are on their way to becoming a family again.
Just an update on my status, my hubby received a letter in the mail today stating that they have rec'd the file and that it is in process. It stated that it would take 6-12 months for a decision to be made.
However I found it kinda strange that they have asked him for proof of our relationship, such as pictures, phone records, proof that I have been to Trinidad to visit. Reason being is that all of this was submitted when the application was filed.
Anyone had a similar issue ?? What should I take of it ?
That is a general letter which is of that format. It is optional to send in more info to prove the relationship if genuine. If the IO is not convince it of the relationship is genuine then they will schedule you for an interview which would max out the 12 months otherwise it can finalize in 6 months / so according to other members...
Good Monday Morning to each and every Forum Family, and Happy Valentines day, whether we are spending it with our Honeys or not, soon we will POS is on the move! ;D
