A comprehensive security screening, sis... It can take years. I've requested correspondence between IRCC and CBSA to help me understand why they decided to do that screening. It was surprise to me, because I've never committed a crime, served in the military, traveled, or worked for a state. I'm expecting the response in a few weeks.
On the one hand it's bad that security screening hasn't started yet. On the other hand it's not comprehensive security screening. Likely you may avoid this.
I noticed a ghost update in my account today. It is 2nd or 3rd GH so far. I am not sure which one because I didn't pay attention to GUs for some time until I learnt about it.
On that day I have a record "Security in progress, file to be reviewed on next BF date".
BF date - Bring Forward date (more info on that).
I guess an officer checked if my security is done by CBSA. It was not and the officer made a schedule to check it later. It's my speculation because I don't know what really happened.
Also, I see that my MP really requested the status of my app. I guess she got not more info that I usually get from IRCC. Anyway, thanks to MP for not waving off my inqury.
To sum up, I can stay positive, because security screening is going on. Officers open my file regularly to arrange necessary things, such as criminality extension, medical extension, etc. For the last year there are 8 records on my file.
Security screening is basically the last "complex" stage of the processing of an app. When it's finished, the case is mostly done. So I'm waiting for CBSA having its job finished.
Just a quick update on my AOR 2018 November application: I just received an email from IRCC saying that I am no longer required to complete an additional Immigration Medical Exam (IME). I guess they just extended my Medical.
