@ Holygun, I always ask them assertively. Like in my last email I asked that I needed to know an update on my file. I told them that I would like to know so that I could plan my immigration from USA. Like start looking for a job etc.

there isn't any hard and fast rule that its turn for April or May 2012 applicants. I am telling this as most of my friends were in Nov-Dec 2012 applications and have already received everything, including PR card, that too 2 months ago.
I knew it was March to May 2012 should get reply between June and August 2013. If August is for March 2012 applicants then when will be for April and May ....
I think it depends from officer to officer and case to case. Totally unpredictable. The math rule doesn't apply here.
...and there isn't any consistency to their requests. It's like some people get asked to update their current information, get fbi reports etc and i've had only the request to pay RPRF, since they asked me to do my medicals in june 2012.
Also, inconsistencies in asking for PPR, some february 2012 then december 2012, matter of fact i saw a january 2013 applicant jumping for joy at the request for PPR. It's absurd and frustrating to say the least....
