I am an international student enrolled in one year program for Jan 2020 intake. Due to COVID, my classes were shifted to online during march end and I moved back to my home country. I finished my program in August. Almost 60% of my classes were online I completed while I was in India. As per IRCC website, the requirement to complete 50% of the course in Canada grounds is mentioned from May 2020 intake students. I would like to know if this applies to me as well or I can go ahead and apply for PGWP.
Students already in Canada for the winter, spring and summer terms were assured that they wouldn’t lose their eligibility for a post-graduation work permit if they were forced to complete more than 50% of their program online, reduce their studies to part-time or take a break from their studies completely as a result of restrictions on classroom learning due to the pandemic.
thank you for your response. I am not in Canada right now. If I take up another course in Jan 2021 and if I have to extend my study permit, do I have to apply for a new study permit along with GIC etc.,?
