My expectation is more than 10k if they expect to process 10k.
Historically, some that submitted interest to sponsor did not apply or were not qualify to apply.
So they usually draw more than 10k to get 10k applications.

Agree. The press release said 10k completed applications so they will invite more because many (15-20%) may not even be eligible.

Yes but there is a backlog of files which is why the draw was supposed to be paused in 2025. The fact that press release said up to 10k, the fact that there wasn’t supposed to be a draw in 2025 and the lower quotas for the next 3 years makes me wonder IRCC will only draw 10k. Still think this announcement is very strange after the pause announced in January. Still suspect this may be election related since IRCC is aware that PGP is a huge voting issue is some ridings. Now that LPC is in play again I wonder if the pause may have been reassessed.

Probably 10% - 20% more as IRCC target to get 10,000 "completed" applications. As in all the past years, they've always send more invitation, for example, 2024 was 32,000 - 33,000 invitation to get 30,000 completed application...

Normally I would agree but we had 2 draws in a year and there is a significant backlog with lower quotas. The pause that was announced in January was supposed to reduce the backlog without adding more applications so what changed? Do they really need more than 10k new applications given the volume of applications already waiting for processing. We’ll have to wait and see.

Last year, 2024, the IRCC started to send out the Invitation on May 21st, 2024... Possibly would be the same this year?

I just want to re-introduce the million-dollar question that I saw sometimes ago. It is regarding to the validity of your "Interest to Sponsor" that you have submitted in 2020: How do you know if your number is still in the pool?

If you haven’t been selected before you’d still be in the pool. No way to confirm this.

Usually after all the invites of that specific year have been sent out, IRCC will post a link with tool to check if you are invited that year.
I haven't heard of a tool to check if you have EVER been invited and are still in the pool.
May be they will have one this year or not. who knows.

If you applied in 2020 and got a confirmation and have monitored the draws every year I don’t understand why the default isn’t that I just haven’t been selected versus not being in the pool. There are still a significant amount of people in the pool so not being selected yet is a far more reasonable conclusion.

Got what ya saying... But after 14 years of waiting would make anyone being anxious a bit about their validity... Even worse, when there is no one in the pool and you are not invited!!! Human error exist everywhere these days
IRCC could make a tool to check if your number are still in the pool, in my personal opinion, not a big issue
