i have been making $150K+ for last three years and im fighting a ticket with people struggling to make $50k/y?

i feel the same way, I agree that system is flawed. But everyone has a right to call their family over. I just wish they stop playing these lottery games and come up with a better idea/plan to have our families over. It is so heartbreaking when you see how you are left behind but you have to be happy for others

They should do a FIFO lottery hybrid

Have ITA submission ranked first to last.

First gets more lottery tickets than last.

Eg say there are 300,000 applicants then first gets 3000 tickets. 2nd 2999 tickets. And so on.

So there is advantage to be first but not guaranteed. And if you are last you still have a chance!

Nothing to do with it.

There is absolutely NO CONSEQUENCE with winning a spot in the lottery and not applying.

You can even play the lottery just for fun with absolutely no intention to apply at all.

So I have been trying since 2016 and got invited this round. I was disbelief when I saw the email. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. I am very thankful to God for doing it for me. For those who believe in God please always pray. God answers prayers.

The Lottery system may not be the best, I know for a fact because I have criticized it myself but it is fair to everyone who submits an ITA. My only suggestion would be to add a SIN and income verification requirement before qualifying interested sponsors for a draw. This way, everyone who gets invited is qualified to apply. This would eliminate all those who just apply for fun and then get selected when they know they actually do not qualify and will waste the spot.

I am very happy that I can now sponsor my mom. It is a dream come true for me. Please stay positive and think positively. The Federal government is still sending out invitations and you may get lucky and receive one. If not this time, there are still 30,000 spots in the next draw. This will give many PRs and Citizens a higher chance of getting an invitation as the government will most probably send out 40,000 or more invitations in order to meet the 30,000 quota.

I am sponsoring my mom and dad in their seventies.My father still works and my mom is retired for the last 10 years. Do I need to prepare CV for both of them?

I just realized something.

Quebec has a much much lower income requirement. They also only need the most recent year's income. So for some it might make sense to move to Quebec then try the lottery if they don't meet the income requirements Federally.

PGP is a federal program, so where you live doesn't matter.
