I don't think it matters what you make what matters is that there has to be fairness to the system. I have been applying since 2016 and have not been picked. I came to Canada in 2005 have been citizen for 8 years now, nothing against any of the new immigrants who got picked happy for you guys, but how is that fair that someone who arrived in Canada in 2016 is selected to apply for their parents this year and someone who has been applying for 5 years is not picked?... Imagine if you come here as a student / PHD masters bachelors whatever and apply for immigration and lets say in 100 thousand application they decide to only pick 5 thousand on a lottery system would you accept that system to be fair? Parents might be different due to healthcare concerns etc but not all parents need healthcare immediately my mother is 54, shes healthy and managing a gas station. So all i have to say is there has to be a merit to the system. 1st Citizens get picked first (US only allows citizedns to apply), 2nd prioritize those who have applied before 3rd considering healthcare seems to be such a big issue (not sure why the government don't openly state it) prioritize younger parents. Tbh even if the first 2 are implemented we wont be having any discussions here about the merit of the system

Years, years of lotteries and what do we get today in the mail??? AN INVITATION EMAIL! Could I possibly be hallucinating? THIS IS THE BEST YEAR, THE ABSOLUTE BEST YEAR.

What info did you guys need? I applied in the first 10 min of the lottery opening on the very first day, the email arrived at 10:42 am from CIC.CPCMississauga. anything else that's helpful?

That is your personal understanding of fairness.

Personnally I don’t see why some should be described as having more merit than others to sponsor their parents.

That happens all the time . Not that I like it but it still happens.

And when it comes to seniority and parents age , I believe the older the parents are the higher the priority they should get. Parents of younger age and better health can afford to travel a lot more and if living alone can take much better care of themselves than elderly parents. Just my opinion

Everybody had lot of negative energy in 2020. This is 2021. Stay positive. We will make it.

IMO this isn't the best example.

Promotions should be performance and capability based, not seniority based. If the new person is a better leader, then I'm going to promote them over the person who has seniority. Being in a job a long time doesn't mean that you have earned a promotion.

I submitted the interest to sponsor form on Oct 31st. Let’s see if there is any luck.
I’ve been applying since 2017 and hope it’ll happen this time around. I was very hopeful in 2019 that I can complete the application in 2 -3 min as I practised filling info quickly beforehand but the page just refused to open for the first 8 min and then said all spots have been filled up - tough luck.
