Remember guys, you could call customer service and they will have info regarding what stage your passport is in now cz cic website will not update that.

congrats all who got approved today, for me the wait continues , the process is f....d up and unfair for sure (I told the customer care lady and she also agreed that yes in fairness it should be FCFS, but she refused to go into the fairness discussion)). I have my own theories on the reason of this seeming randomness but ..sigh..wait continues

Do the authorities cancel the visitor visa once you land in canada as a Permanenent Resident?

I was thinking of landing in canada with PR status and then resturning to US. Once PR card is delivered in canada to a friend's address, can i goto canada on existing visitor visa (good till 2021) to get my PR card and come back to US?

landing papers would be sufficient and you don't need to depend on visitor visa

Your friend can mail the pr to you I think.
Btw I am in same boat, working in USA so far, plan to go there and come back immed
