Are we going to get any email when they send our passports back? How do we know?
Are you able to track it using the return xpresspost tracking number?

I too have the same question.. the email address is of my lawyer.. will there be any update on MyCIC ?

From my experience, "lawyers" are usually not as knowledgeable as they might present themselves and don't like to give any guarantees. That's why he/she told you it will take 4 weeks, just to be on a safe side. There are no official time frames for PR Visa issuance, and CIC agents cannot comment how fast you can get your passports back either.
But from what I've heard on this forum, standard time frame (holidays away) is exactly 15 days from the moment your passport is received in Ottawa. However, some people (like myself), do not fit in this category for whatever reason. :-(
But I'm sure you'll get your docs back much faster than 4 weeks.

My passport was received at Ottawa on December 2nd.

Thanks for the thread. According to FedEx, CPC Ottawa received my envelop (passport copies) on December 29th. I think I should expect COPR around January 22nd. Yes?

Finally an update...

My app got closed on my cic today, and now I saw the tracker has activated. it should be here by Friday..

I have a somewhat silly question. How do you see the tracker being activated? Do you get a message on myCIC or does it only appear on ECAS? The reason i ask is because most (if not all) Express Entry applicants don't have ECAS access including myself.

Did you put a prepaid envelope with return address into your package? If yes, check tracking number from it

They recd my passports on 28th Dec and issued visa on 29th dec. Yesterday I received back my passports.
