My question did any one have experience to apply for a passport same day after OATH CEREMONY. I know during oath ceremony they advise us to wait at least 48 hours for update information in system. But i heard from fellows and this forum people applied after oath same day and its work for them.

I think it depends on the office, how fast they get it into the computer. My family had our oath in the mid-morning, and we were told if we waited until the afternoon we could apply for a passport.
One reason people do that, Coffee, is because if you have to leave work and get your family together and travel to the Federal building, it's nice to be able to put in your passport application at that time instead of having to do it all again.
Why so negative Coffee1981? I will apply for passport as soon as possible as well once I have my oath. But not to leave the country but because I will be proud to be Canadian and to have Canadian passport!
No dear, bec to go downtown for me takes half a day and if I do it same day it's more convenient for me otherwise have to take an other half day off which is inconvenient.
I don't believe so, this is the first time I hear about this requirement. Can you please point me to the specific section on the CIC website where this is mentioned?

It is possible that you can apply the same day. But there is no guarantee. That is why IRCC tells you to wait 48 days to be sure so you don't waste your time and get angry at IRCC. But if you don't mind trying ASAP with the knowledge that you may have to come again later, then go ahead.
Hi ranasahib,
If you have your passport application ready. It would be best to visit the office the same day if you are already there it is worth trying. worst they would say info not updated in their system.
I am sure when they provide citizenship certificate it must be definately in the system already.
Please let us know how it goes.

I dont think they will have the info in their system. If you don't show up for oath, you are not citizen yet. Therefore, they wait until you make oath and then enter the info in their system.
