well, i was just wondering if they show any progress such as "Medicals received" etc.
i think it was a bad thing that my parents medicals went to London instead of Ottawa... those who send medicals to Ottawa at the same time as my parents already have some response...

In my country we couldn't choose where to send. Doctors always send to Paris and after we don't know to where. They follow codes on medical application.

Just curious, what was the response, passport requests? file transfer to local office?

CIC started sending the request for additional material to sponsors who submitted applications after Feb 2009.

What`s going on?!

status change to 'medical received' for one person and additional medical tests request for another one... i havent heard about anybody from Ottawa who got passport request...

I think all medical reports go to a centralized office in Canada including those which are sent to Regional offices by DMP's. Centralized office checks and determines the validity of medical results. If applicant is medically admissable to Canada, status is changed to medical received. In some cases, if there is a doubt about the results, additional tests are requested.

Is ECAS page accessible today? Does not seem to work for me today - meaning I can not go to the page that would ask for UCI/name etc... It loads a long time but then gives me blank screen.
Wondering if that is just my computer for some reason
(or maybe a lot of people checking their statuses on monday morning :-) )

...still confused about this FOSS and CAIPS...I am confused and don`t know which is the right way to get the information?

My understanding is that, whatever notes they may have made in Stage - I (in Canada), it would be on your parent's file, not on your file. Since our files have already been transferred to the local office, that would be the best place to look for the details you are seeking. Based on your sponsorship file alone, may not give you clues as to why the file was transferred to the local visa office. My guess is that our sponsorship applications would only contain notes about our eligibility to sponsor. That's the reason why I opted for CAIPS notes.

It should mean good news as it indicates that CIC is willing to handle more applications than they had originally anticipated.

ICJ, I would say Ottawa.
I know in my country, doctors will argue that they need to send it to London instead (just talked to a doctor who did my mom's medical for her TRV...asked her about medical for immigration and sending it Ottawa. She said she never heard of sending anything to Ottawa etc etc etc..of course, she didn't because it was never done before...) :o
Thanks everyone for the advice! I will get the medical sent directly to Ottawa address below
Ottawa Regional Medical Office
Health Management Branch
Citizenship and Immigration Canada
219 Laurier Ave. West, 3rd floor
Ottawa, ON K1A 1L1
Canada
Fax: +1 613 954 6211
Doctor has also agreed to send it to Ottawa for an extra fee. Thanks again.

Finally managed to log in into ECAS (took a lot of attempts today to get to the mail login screen - busy I guess)
My status changed to 2 lines today as I was hoping after that email I received last week
(not 'Decision made' yet, only applicacion received for now, but still progress!)

Only my father name (principal applicant) shows for now and my mom's name is not showing yet (it says dependents will be added once processing begins)

ECAS is definitely overlloaded today or something - tried to check if the file number now works (with my father credentials) for checking but again unable to get to login page.

Ok, finally managed to get through and try the file number with my father's data.

It worked now.

However one thing I noticed is that the address showing up somewhat incorrect. THe street name is missing one letter at the end and there are some other werid letters (not sure whether they took it from old handwritten applications for visitor visa which my parents completed themselves or from the latest printed IMM008 or my other forms where everythign should have been correct and legible)

What do I do now? I know I can email CIC to correct info on sponsorship application but it seems more like an error in the permanent residence appication...

By the way, my name showed up correctly in teh email they sent me but it is still wrong (one letter difference) in the online status...

Anyone had any issues with data? Is it possible to udpate myself online somehow?

I think you should phpone them and ask how it is shown in their system.

My address was shown incorrectly on ecas for almost 2 years :o When I kept phonning them, they said it's correct in their system.
Then I moved to a different address and had to change it anyway. Now it shows the correct address.

And yes, ecas is slow today.

I wil phone. I will wait a bit to see if it changes - maybe they have not really entered the info from the most current IMM008 and something old is showing up (the reason I think so is because the format looks slightly different from how I entered it in the IMM008, not sure how parents put it in the past)

Maybe the data showing is from their systems when they applied for visitor visas? Shuga said this old visa information showed on her CAIPS notes so likely they had somethign in my father's record already and a UCI for him and my mom which I just do not know)?

My canadian address is fine. It is my parents' address that is now showing on my father's application that seems to be screwed up a bit. Bits and pieces are correct but looks weird and no country name.

Sibnadian, does you mom's address shows up correctly?

Anyone, who is ahead of me: do you recall how long it took you to see a change to 'decision made' status from the appearance of the second line in the status record?
