I did not send affidavit for my parent's birth and marriage certificate. I thought that the DOB and spouse name in their passport would be sufficient. I guess I should get their affidavit done asap and send it to CPC. Any suggestion/comment?

one more query...is there a standard format for these affidavit? If I go to local provincial/district court (kachehri), will lawyer there be able to provide it? I guess affidavit for marriage certificate seems like easy to arrange, but I've bigger concern for affidavit for birth certificate. Any information and guidance will be appreciable...thanks.

Go to lawyer's office & ask them birth and marriage affidavits. They know the format.Don't worry about that.Bring original passports for proof of DOB,place of birth & spouse name.No need for other docs.Date of birth affidavit one for your mom &one for your dad.And one marriage affidavit.

It actually varied from case to case. In my case I received the letter but status hasnt changed. In some other cases their status changed way before they received the letter.

I had sent mine on Jan 16th. Expecting it to take 2 months to hear from CPC-M. As regards status on e-cas it still states Application Received - that is the original application I had made in 2008. The automatic call center status says file was transferred to LO in 2010. So I wouldn't go by either.

A few days ago, I had posted that I could not access my e-cas online. It turned out that CIC had put my first name as my surname in the e-cas system. That has now been rectified. Thanks for all those who tried to help me.

My case :
Apply initial application in July 2008.
Additional documents request on 25th November 2011
Additional documents sent 18 Jan 2012
Still waiting, is there anybody sent additional documents in Jan?
It's been 43 months , so after this do we have to wait for MORE 44 MONTHS ? according to the cic processing times in second step is 44 months ( singapore visa office):
cic.gc.ca / english/information/times/perm/fc-parents.asp#asia
By the way, my sister sponsors my mother and me (her brother). So the total time is about 7-8 years?????? Anybody please tell me is this true? I have been studying in a university and in a college for about 6 years, i going to graduate in this october, i'm so worried to prepare to go through new studying time (44 months) in another college. Why does this take so loooong?

Applied on Jan 07,2012 still waiting for processing by CPC-M

Happyguy the CIC processing time dosent reflect the new changes they have done to the process. see below link on it the process has been changed on it and no one know what will be the time line will be yet as every one is in same stage but few of the ppl from this post like Suhaga recived the medical & Police clearnce certficate to be submit so we think it will be faster then what it says on CIC webcites. what we also notice that if your file got transfer to ottowa office then it will be more faster then your local office.

Hopefully not. CIC has now changed the entire system of processing parents files. once CIC-M approves the sponsorship, those files which are fairly straight-forward (where no local knowledge of documents required), a portion of these are forwarded to CPP-O (Ottawa) for final processing. Others are sent to the local visa office. Since most processing is handled within Canada, it should take less time for the local office to issue the visa. I would expect it to take about 12 months. But this is just my guess.

A few people whose files were transferred to Ottawa (instead of the local visa office), have received letters for Medical and PCC. Have not heard such information coming from the local visa offices.

Thanks to Pari4u and sakamath. My god!! I can't imagine how would i handle the 44 number. What a relief! why didn't i catch up those changes? You guys are so cool. Anyone here received sponsor approval letter and the file was sent to local visa office?? Can you share your timeline? Thanks again.
