how do you know they plan to draw from the current pool next year? They could just say we are opening a new round of applications, next year is federal election.

No one thought they will draw from 2020 pool for 4 years, and here we are. I think they will do another draw end of this year and then March/May next year to capture the vote.

Kinda crazy how the uptake rate is is high 60's now and likely lower this year given 35K ITAs but 20K to be selected.

Shows how flawed the process was from the get go. No good screening of folks who actually can qualify - duplication of entries - fradulent entries. Nevermind no prioritization - someone who has been here for 10 years should be ahead in the system than someone who came 2 years ago.

In the end folks who legitimately can get it are suffering from years of wait.

wouldn't the selection be based on which ITA's qualify and are good? I did not know that the 20K was a cap, I've always thought that if the 35K selection all qualified, then they will be processed.

I hope that’s the case. I would argue that they would want to give hope to the other few hundred thousand applications that have become eligible since 2020 and capture their vote. For our sake, I hope I am wrong.

I almost get heart attack with every email on my phone :p if anything ever happen to me because of this stress blame IRCC :D
Don't worry, we are in the same boat. Every freaking process is like that, from WP, PR, Citizenship, Visitor Visa for Parents (covid/post covid), Super visa. Things have improved for sure, but the wait and waiting for an update email adds to the stress....

I think people from 2020 will be Citizens now for sure, but people who apply now, I am sure most would be PR's or applying Citizenship. and 2020 people won't forgive them if he changes the process now :)

It is because many are no longer qualified, either financially, no longer live in Canada, parents died, change their opinion on sponsorship. I know people in previous years in these categories

Hi everyone,
Good luck to start with :)!
I have a very strange question. I do not know why, I think that what if they did send the ITA to me but I never got the email and failed all these years to validate it in the ITA tool. Not being inviting is taking it's toll on me that I have started to self doubt that I was the one who did not look up my code properly in the tool.
Hence, I am wondering is there a way that we can see all the codes that were selected for ITA since 2020!

Haha, after validation also I doubt myself :). I have no way to find that out, I did email them last year, but they replied back saying in 2023 my number wasn't there. But they didin't confirm or deny from previous years.

I doubt myself everyday and I am at the point where I am trying to convince myself that I am not in the pool this way I might not get heart attack.
