Good folks on this thread, I have a few questions that are not directly related to this specific thread for 2024, but I would be grateful if you can help me with the answers. I am a Permanent Resident of Canada, and I wish to bring my mother to Canada through this program as soon as possible.

1. Any idea when the Parents & Grandparents Program will open in 2025? Or if it will open at all?

2. How exactly does one get to know that the program has opened? Do I have to simply keep an eye on the IRCC website? Or is there a way to sign up for a notification?

3. Once the program opens, I'm assuming that as a first step, applicants are expected to express their interest in the program. Is there a time window to the expression of this interest? And does that window remain open for a reasonable period of time? (as opposed to the quota getting full in a matter of minutes)

Depending on your answers, I will consider starting a separate thread for the 2025 program. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for sharing.. Hopefully this means for the candidates who applied in 2024 but their applications are yet to be picked up for review by IRCC, that their application will be picked up as well and not that they have reached the 2024 quota!

So confused I thought there is no draw in 2025 because there were 2 draws in 2024 for some reason and there was a pretty large backlog. Wonder if this is a non-announcement announcement which is common when elections are on the horizon. Essentially restating something already announced. Other option is that so many applications don’t qualify that they need have a small draw again. Who knows.

I am not exactly sure if the previous applications from the 2024 invitations have met the quota. They haven't published information as to how many applications were accepted and AOR'ed in 2024. An Access to Information Request could throw some light

They also previously stated they planned on putting PGP on hold for 2025. Never clear what is truly going on around an election. Easier to campaign on a reduction vs a freeze. The numbers of applications processing wouldn’t have changed since January so quite odd. We’ll have to wait and see.

Its almost 6 weeks passed after 27th Jan., 2025 medical was done, but since no news from IRCC for next step. Maybe its next step is PPR, but still not received yet.

Can anyone received PPR after medical. Pls. respond me.

Same boat. Medical passed on Feb 01. Radio silence since then from IRCC. Hopefully soon we will see some movements towards PPR.

You mean getting PR in 6 to 8 weeks is the maximum?!!
I have never heard of this kind of timeline.

I got a document request from CIC and when sending them email, the email is bouncing back saying IRCC mailbox is full.
Has anyone faced this?

I mean got PPR letter not PR.

Highly unlikely to be close to PPR given when you applied.

Medical was done on 27 Jan 25.

You just got biometrics done in December. Don’t think you have a realistic timeframe for processing of PGP.
