I wonder how they do the draw. Is it completely random or do they draw separately from combinations like A-N, N-N, N-A, A-A etc!!

Believe it is completely random and a computer program selects 24k applications randomly.

I received an email from IRCC with the invitation for my parents. I'm currently in Ontario, however my work might require me to move to Montreal over the next year. In that case would my parents' application be cancelled? Or would I have to submit a CSQ? I'm a Canadian Citizen.

I received an invitation from the CPC Mississauga office @9.35AM EST, and my application begins with F01/GTA.

If you applied for citizenship in October 2021 you may have only arrived in Canada in 2018. If that was the case did you meet LICO for 2018, 2019 and 2020 to enter the EOI2020?


Although you may feel like you have waited a long time most do not get selected after 3 years of meeting LICO. Wish the government was clear about how long people on average wait to get selected since many are under the impression that you get selected after 3 years of meeting LICO, that parents can get denied PGP for various reasons but a big one is medical reasons, that fact that parent sponsorship is not guaranteed should be a consideration when applying to immigrate and given the volume of immigration the wait is likely going to get a lot longer. With our healthcare system in crisis and with our ageing population the whole system could be reassessed. Canada is one of the few countries that allow parent and grandparent sponsorship with access to public healthcare. Most don’t allow it because it is very expensive and places a large burden on resources that are already in limited supply.

You would have to update your application if you move to Quebec at any point during the application and your parents will need to obtain CSQ.

Hi - thank you for the response! Are there any language requirements for the parents to speak french? They don't and I'm wondering if it will hamper them(they are close to 60).
