If police verification is required, then it may take up-to 1 month. Indian PCC is issued after physical police visit to your address and a positive report.
Is Police Verification Required for PCC?
Police verification is required if your current residence address is different than what is written in your current valid passport.
If your first passport was issued on 1 Jan, 2005 and you apply for certificate in 2012.
You are currently residing at the same address as in current passport, then you are issued the PCC on the same day of appointment in passport office, without any new police verification.
If your first passport was issued on 1 Jan, 2005 and was renewed on 1 Jan, 2015 with the same Indian address, then applying PCC any time until 31 Dec 2017 will not trigger any new Police verification.
If you apply for PCC anytime after 1 Jan, 2018, there will be a physical police verification required, even if you have been staying at the same address.
Police verification is valid for a period of 13 years, after which, a new one is required.
Great @robertp Thanks for sharing the info. The wording is little unclear but I got the idea. Good that I applied in advance. Hopefully will get it by the time I get PCC request from CIC.
Thank you. Also, my parents' passports are expiring by the end of the year, since they have not been asked for IME/Biometrics/PPC yet, what is the good time for them to renew their passports ?

I think in some jurisdictions, you cant renew till 6 months before the passport expires. But if you get assigned CPC-M as your LVO, they will ask for photocopies of your passport that has at least one year validity
Hello Everyone, Just getting some thoughts from the group on processing from NDVO. I received the SA approval letter Dec 6th 2019, with NDVO as the office. Received the Biometrics from my dad (dependent) not my mum on Nov 21st, 2019. Dad completed the Biometrics. Since then no messages from NDVO. Any similar timelines for people. I am May 28th applicant.
Thanks!
Hello I would love to join this email thread. Is there anyone here that says on eCas status under sponsorship for my mom-in-law "Oct 5 - started processing your application". Up to now we still have not received any approval as sponsor, I would have expected that I will receive it at the same time of processing per experience with my mom. Is there anyone here on the same boat?
Timeline as follows:
April 26 - Invitation to submit PR application
May 27 - Received application in Mississauga
Sep 4 - Received letter re accepted for intake 2019
Sep 9 - Received the same letter from Sep 4
Oct 5 - eCas status updated "started processing sponsorship application"
Did you check myCIC any Bio request you got ? if not migh Bio not required OR VO not requested Bio from CPC-M. very few case NDVO issue bio just before DM for PR.
Thank you @robertp, myCIC does not have any request, it seems like CPC-M did not request the Bio with the SA or simply waived it for being in Canada applicant and later transferred the file to NDVO as i submitted additional documents as requested. like you said NDVO may issue the Bio before hte end of hte process.
Cheers

My parents are in India, and I quite dint understand your comment. Could you please elaborate on it - Do you mean if they send their passports to CPC-Mississauga, then that visa office just asks for photocopies and not passport ?

I am also on the same boat as yours. I received my Dad's bio metrics request but not mothers. Did you call CIC to check why your Mom's Bio metrics request is missing.
I want to extend my in laws visitor visa as it is expiring soon. They did their medical for PGP in Dec 2019. Part of the visa extension requirements is a medical exam. Has anyone uploaded some kind of proof of a prior exam and has CIC accepted this?
